Bart Colasuono

President – COO

Bart has been an integral part of Ulrich, Inc. since 1986. He began his career on our field staff, training under the expert guidance of our master carpenters.  With a natural talent for the craft and a passion for excellence, Bart quickly advanced -- leading installations and ultimately managing complex residential and commercial projects.
Today, as President and COO, Bart brings more than three decades of hands-on experience to every aspect of our work. He serves as a vital connection between clients, designers, field staff, and trade partners, ensuring each project not only meets our clients’ expectations but also reflects Ulrich Inc.’s uncompromising standards.  Known for his organizational skills and depth of industry knowledge, Bart consistently delivers outstanding results and exceptional value for the families that entrust us with their homes.

Bart’s dedication to client satisfaction extends well beyond project completion, he remains a trusted resource and point of contact for homeowners long after the finishing touches are in place.

Outside of work, Bart enjoys golf, attending classic car shows, walking his dog, and spending quality time with his family.

Mike Harpster

Vice President – CFO

Mike joined the Ulrich team in 1999 as a member of the field staff.  His dedication to customer satisfaction, strong leadership, and ability to balance multiple priorities have propelled him through a series of progressive roles, culminating in his current position as Vice President and CFO.  In this capacity, Mike oversees the financial health of the company, provides strategic direction, and works closely with the extended team to ensure Ulrich’s continued growth and success.

With 25 years of carpentry experience and a B.A. in Psychology from Clemson University, Mike brings a unique blend of hands-on expertise and business insight to his role.

Outside of work, he enjoys being outdoors, playing pickleball, and spending time with family and friends.

David Ulrich, CKD

CEO Emeritus

David Ulrich has been an integral part of Ulrich, Inc. for more than 50 years. During that time, he has helped the company become one of the region’s largest and most respected premier-quality kitchen and bathroom remodeling firms.

Always with an eye toward the future well-being of the company—and of its employees—David also transitioned Ulrich, Inc. from a sole proprietorship to an ESOP; Ulrich, Inc. is now 100% owned by its employees. His vision and leadership has created an environment that offers our employees long-term career opportunities not often found in the industry.

David has received numerous NKBA (National Kitchen and Bath Association) and manufacturer design accolades throughout his career; he is notably among the earliest to earn the designation Certified Kitchen Designer from the NKBA’s Society of Certified Kitchen and Bathroom Designers. David’s active role within the kitchen and bath industry is marked in many ways, including repeated requests to judge trade and consumer design competitions.

Aparna Vijayan

Designer

Artist and architect Aparna Vijayan applies her artistic talents and design expertise to create spaces custom tailored to her clients’ individual needs and lifestyles. Aparna’s visualization skills and formal architectural training bring a special quality to each project, blending aesthetics with practical, functional design solutions. She has always enjoyed focusing on residential design, especially kitchen and bath design, combining her knowledge of art and architecture to meet the many challenges presented by her clients.

Aparna earned an undergraduate degree in architecture and a master’s degree in urban design from Pratt Institute, where she was honored with an “Excellence in Design” award for her graduate thesis. Her architecture designs have been exhibited in several venues in New York City, and her oil paintings and etchings shown at various international art exhibits. Outside of designing, Aparna enjoys reading, oil painting, antiquing and traveling. She is also an avid foodie and enjoys cooking and entertaining.

Jeannie Fulton

CKBD - Designer

Jeannie Fulton’s commitment to creativity, quality and professionalism are evidenced by her clients’ satisfaction, in large part due to her ability to truly understand a client’s needs and translate them into uniquely designed spaces. Her use of color, texture and style are among the elements she uses to create rooms of distinction.

After receiving a degree in business management and working in the corporate world, Jeannie returned to school to study interior design; she holds certifications in kitchen design and bathroom design. Her work experience, coupled with her education, inform every one of Jeannie’s projects, which deliver a high level of value, function and beauty.

Jeannie is a nationally recognized, award-winning designer.  Her work has been featured in numerous design publications including popular magazine covers such as DesignNJ.

Along with designing kitchens and baths, Jeannie enjoys designing and crafting her own jewelry, painting and cooking.

Julia Kleyman

Designer

Julia Kleyman’s design expertise has been cultivated by her broad experience and education as well as her genuine enthusiasm for the process of creating uniquely beautiful and functional spaces.  Julia consistently develops concepts that provide that extra “wow” factor for her clients. Additionally, she is a Certified Living in Place Professional and can ensure her clients with special needs the utmost in home accessibility, comfort and safety.

Julia attended the Moscow Institute of Architecture before coming to New York and completing her bachelor’s degree in design at Pratt Institute. Her early career as an art director and graphic designer has given her a rich foundation as a creative leader in a team environment. Seeking to fulfill a desire for hands-on tactical creativity, Julia became a highly sought-after faux finish artist, executing projects from single walls to entire residences. In 2005, she turned her creative attention and career to space and cabinetry design with Ulrich, Inc.

In addition to being published in several design magazines and books, Julia’s creativity and technical proficiency was displayed in the stunning kitchen in a recent Designer Showhouse of NJ in Saddle River, New Jersey—just one of many examples of her exceptional design skills.

Taylor Sassaman

Designer

Taylor Sassaman brings a fresh new perspective to kitchen and bath design.  You could say her designs are highly inspired by what is trending, popular and social media driven, but that would not quite do justice to her work.  Rather, she first pats down a client’s functional needs, creates a solid layout, then uses that as a springboard for design aesthetics - doing lots of internet research, compiling collections of images, and using those inspirational details, together with her client’s input to create a fresh new take on existing styles that make her clients uniquely happy.

Taylor is a 2020 graduate of the New York School of Interior Design.  During her last year of studies, a high end kitchen and bath firm in Manhattan scooped her up as an intern, then hired her on full time.  There she got involved with all facets of interior design, gaining valuable exposure working with some of the top architects and designers in NYC.  With an eye to furthering her career and spreading her wings, Taylor joined the Ulrich design team in 2022 and quickly became a valued member of the Ulrich family.

Interior design is in Taylor’s blood.  Her Dad managed cabinet factories while she was growing up, and she took countless courses in architecture, CAD, and other design based classes starting as early as high school.  Today, in her free time, she enjoys hanging out with friends, traveling, spending time on beautiful beaches – Mexico and the west coast being her faves – and even sometimes dabbling in landscape and hardscape design for family and friends.

Givi Legashvili

Draftsperson

Givi Legashvili is Drafting and Design Assistant at Ulrich Inc. He is an architectural enthusiast with a passion for innovative design and sustainable practices. Inspired by the intersection of art, culture, and functionality, Givi is constantly exploring new trends and technologies in design.

He is from Tbilisi, Georgia, where he studied architecture and design. Givi’s background in European culture has deeply influenced his appreciation for timeless design in architecture and interior spaces.  “As a beginner in kitchen design, I enjoy exploring how practicality meets aesthetic appeal.  I love photography, and especially like capturing design elements and details that inspire me."

Jeff Ricco

Operations Administrator

Jeff Ricco is the Operations Department Administrator, and has been in the kitchen and bath industry for over 30 years.  As Operations Admin, he is responsible for permit applications and scheduling inspections, shipping and receiving materials, and ordering products like appliances and plumbing fixtures, among other various tasks.   In his downtime, Jeff enjoys travelling to exotic locations, eating at great restaurants, and relaxing at home with his dog Ravioli and his cat Paul Anka.

Scott Tomaszewski

Project Manager

Senior Project Manager - Scott’s career began in tilework, where he honed his craft for more than a decade before expanding his expertise into swimming pool installation and house framing. Ultimately, his passion for tile brought him back to the trade, where his precision and artistry set him apart. Drawing on this diverse background, Scott now serves as our Senior Project Manager, leading on-site teams with the same care and attention to detail that defined his early work.

Since joining Ulrich in 1999, Scott has become a trusted leader with more than 35 years of industry experience. He embodies a client-first philosophy, often saying, “I work for Ulrich, but I really work for our clients.” His approach is proactive and solutions-driven—always setting goals to anticipate challenges and ensure each project runs smoothly. Known for his positive attitude and hands-on leadership, Scott inspires his teams while helping clients realize their vision for their homes.

Outside of work, Scott values time with his wife and grandchildren and enjoys the quiet escape of deep-sea fishing in South Jersey.

Randy Zenzer

Senior Carpenter

Ever since he can remember, Senior Carpenter Randy Zenzer has enjoyed working with his hands and creating things.  He joined Ulrich, Inc. right out of high school and over the past 35 years, he has built a distinguished career in the fine craft of carpentry.  Randy thrives on collaboration and finds great satisfaction in working alongside his colleagues.
 
Randy honed his carpentry skills directly on the job, learning from experienced Ulrich craftsmen. Through these years of hands-on experience, he has developed a high level of service acumen, enabling him to anticipate client needs, offer tailored solutions, and deliver exceptional results. "Service makes all the difference — always do what’s needed to get the job done right, which often means exceeding expectations."

Each day, Randy combines his passion for creativity with his craftsmanship, transforming empty spaces into functional, beautifully finished rooms. Outside of work, Randy is a dedicated family man who enjoys spending time with his wife, two sons, and dogs, and indulges in his love for sports.

Christian Diaz

Carpenter Helper

Christian Diaz – Carpenter Helper  Christian's journey into carpentry began with the Paterson Servant’s Heart Ministry, where he became interested in architecture and building. Following the challenges of COVID, he sought a fulfilling career that allowed him to continue learning and growing in the trades. He’s thankful to Ulrich for providing that opportunity.  He has since immersed himself in carpentry, discovering a true passion for the craft, and enjoying working with a variety of tradespeople as well as a warm comradery with his colleagues.

Carpentry has not only enhanced Christian’s skills but also built his confidence.  He consistently strives to use what he’s learned to make a positive impact, both on the job and in his local neighborhood:  His long-term goal is to master kitchen and bathroom carpentry and give back to the community via nonprofits.  In his free time, he enjoys music, working on his car and watching his favorite college football team, the Georgia Bulldogs

Linda Alvino

Showroom & Marketing Manager

Linda manages the Ulrich, Inc. showroom in Ridgewood, NJ, ensuring that every detail in its stunning displays are ready each day for designer / client collaboration and creative meetings.

A Bergen County native, Linda holds bachelor’s degrees in math, Spanish and business which initially launched her into a 15-year career in international fragrance sales. As her family grew, she decided to remain local and found her niche with the Ulrich family of employee owners.

She began with Ulrich in the operations department, ensuring that all services and materials arrived at their designated job sites when needed. In 2012, the value of our customer service attracted Linda to manage the firm’s marketing and advertising efforts; as such, she organizes showroom events including professional training seminars, cooking demonstrations, charity group dinners, and employee parties. She also helps develop our advertising and publicity.

Linda enjoys most things creative, spending time with people, and above all, making them happy!

Nivy Trama

Showroom and Marketing Associate

A 25-year resident of Ridgewood, Nivy has deep roots in the community where she raised her three daughters. Her genuine connection to the area and its people informs everything she does, both personally and professionally.

With a background in fashion and marketing, Nivy brings a creative eye and a strong sense of aesthetics to all of our marketing activities. An avid cook with a love for global cuisine, she sees the kitchen as the heart of the home-a place for gathering, sharing, and making memories.

Nivy also brings hands-on experience, having overseen the construction of her own home from the ground up. She understands the intricacies and challenges of home design and renovation, and the importance of the thoughtful planning and attention to detail that go into each and every  project.

Whether she's brainstorming creative challenges or chatting with neighbors on a walk through Ridgewood, Nivy’s warmth, creativity, and passion for connection always shine through.

Cherrie Behr

Draftsperson

Cherrie Behr is a graduate of Architecture studies and has been working with Ulrich, Inc. in our Drafting and Production department since 2000.  Cher utilizes her engineering skills daily to translate our designers’ vision of a space, via CAD drawing, into its parts, to identify and organize all of those pieces and to ensure that each one is accurately ordered for the projects she handles.  She particularly enjoys the challenge of transforming our homeowner’s and our design expert’s vision into a reality, detail by detail, and seeing a project through from start to finish.  “Every time a project is handed to me, says Cher, I challenge myself to imagine how the details of a project will translate into the final outcome and I really enjoy that part of my job”.

Cher is a self-described “happy wife, proud mother and grandmother”.  She loves to travel and she also enjoys planning travel logistics for family and friends.  At any given moment you will either find Cher with earbuds in, focused on the drawings on her computer, or researching her next travel adventure!

Miri Peleg

Accounting Manager

Miri Peleg is Ulrich’s Accounting Manager. She joined the Ulrich team in 2017. Miri comes with 30+ years of experience working in Accounting with family-owned businesses.  She’s been a Bergen county resident for over 30 years.

When she’s not reviewing financial statements and completing payroll, Miri enjoys cooking new recipes for her 3 kids when they visit home, traveling internationally with her husband and practicing her new hobby of pickle ball.

Peggy Purwin

Accounts Receivable Manager

Peggy Purwin is Ulrich’s Accounts Receivable Manager.  She is a 40-year resident of Bergen County and has worked with Ulrich since 1992.  Peggy’s career began in the banking industry.  When her family started to grow, she left banking, looking for a local opportunity that would mesh with family life, joined Ulrich, and her part time job has turned into over 30 years of tenure with the company.  During this time Peggy has put her banking background, and organizational and people skills to work by deftly handling appliance orders and customer service in addition to her accounts receivable responsibilities.  She modestly attributes her employment longevity to Ulrich’s positive work environment and to the integrity of the people at the company.  Outside of work Peggy can be found tending to the lovely blooms in her garden, and spending time with her family – especially her 5 grandchildren!
