Project Scope: Kitchen, Bar, Family Room & Laundry Room


Design Details: Custom powder coated hood with satin gold trim. Full suite of high end appliances seamlessly integrated into the custom cabinetry.  Polished Taj Majal quartzite adorning both countertops and backsplashes.  Satin gold tone metal door frames, and an Antique Mirror and Glass Mixed Finish Mosaic backsplash for the bar.


The Backstory: Originally a standard builder-grade kitchen in Maple, this renovation transformed the space into a timeless, luxury kitchen tailored to the homeowners' lifestyle. Designed to support both everyday family living and frequent entertaining, the project focused on elevating functionality, maximizing natural light, and introducing refined custom detailing throughout. The new layout introduced a dedicated beverage bar to serve as natural gathering point.  Thoughtful reconfiguration of the kitchen, pantry, adjoining mudroom/laundry, and family room created a cohesive, highly functional living space that balances classic elegance with modern performance.

A new triple-casement window and expansive, three-panel French doors (not shown) flood the room with natural light, creating a bright, open feel and an immediate sense of refinement. At the heart of the design, the expanded island provides generous prep space and comfortable seating. A custom powder coated metal hood is the crowning highlight.

A new walk-in pantry, discreetly hidden behind matching floor-to-ceiling cabinetry, keeps a coffee station and everyday essentials within easy reach while maintaining the kitchen’s clean, sophisticated appearance. A full suite of high-end appliances is seamlessly integrated into the cabinetry and concealed behind custom panels, creating a refined, furniture-like aesthetic.

The adjacent laundry and mudroom was thoughtfully reconfigured to maximize functionality. The redesigned space now incorporates a washer and dryer, hamper, coat and shoe storage, and convenient bench seating.

A frosted glass door on the kitchen side (not pictured) provides an elegant transition between the spaces, softening the connection to the hardworking utility area where storage is maximized, yet hidden out of sight.

To complete the transformation, custom built-in cabinetry, open shelving, window seating and custom millwork were added to the adjoining family room, creating a seamless extension of the kitchen. Together, these spaces support both relaxed daily living and effortless entertaining, resulting in a home that feels cohesive, welcoming, and beautifully tailored to the family's lifestyle.
