Project Scope: Remodel – Primary Bathroom

Design Details:  Floating vanity, layered lighting, free-standing tub, nature-inspired detailing including natural wood paneling, glass doors and a custom wall mural.

The Back Story:  This primary bath was reimagined to embody the homeowners’ vision of modern design with natural elements, blending a soft flow of color, texture, and lighting. The thoughtfully curated details come together to create a serene, Zen-inspired atmosphere, drawn from their travels.

A floating oak vanity along with cedar planking on the ceiling and in the alcove for the towel warmer add warmth and luxury. Layered lighting—including frameless recessed ceiling lights, under-tub wall washing, sconce uplighting, and soft nighttime illumination—creates a serene, inviting ambiance.

The freestanding tub, with its wide ledge for easy access, is situated near the window and wall mural - both summon the outdoors-in.  For the backdrop of the  tub we selected a dramatic slab of Fusion Dark Leather Quartzite.

The wall mural was carefully selected to reflect the view through the large window.  The idea was to make it appear as though one could walk out of the space and into that landscape via the antique Chinese Granite step.

Cedar planking continues the soft flow of color and texture over the tub and into the shower.  Honed Pebbles in Charcoal on the shower floor gracefully spill out into the room from the shower floor via the curbless shower entry.

A custom weaved glass mosaic tile was specially designed to be able to mount the grab bar in the shower at the proper height – it’s beauty cleverly disguises its practicality.

To create a serene feel in the space, we strove for color uniformity and carefully aligned the blue hue of the shower, the WC and the linen cabinet glass doors to help unify that view.

In addition to plenty of deck space and linen/towel storage, the homeowners asked for a hamper and docking drawer that flawlessly conceal clutter.
